The most generalized concept refers to all the large higher fungi with fruiting bodies (basidiocarps and Ascocarps) as mushrooms. In a narrower sense, it refers to the fungi with umbelliform fruiting bodies, including all kinds of Agaricales. In a narrower sense, it only refers to the genus Agaricus (Brassica) in the family Umbelliferae. In addition, some species of mushrooms are called mushrooms.
How to distinguish the mushroom and Shiitake
1, Shiitake Mushroom
Shiitake mushroom, also known as Huagu, Xianggu, Xiangxin, Xianggu, Donggu, Xiangzi, is the fruiting body of the side ear plant Xianggu. Shiitake mushroom is the second largest edible fungus in the world and one of the specialties in China. It is known as "mountain treasure" in the folk. It is a kind of fungus that grows on wood. It tastes delicious, smells fragrant and nutritious.
Shiitake are the fruiting bodies of fungi, which belong to basidiomycetes and Umbelliferae. The fruiting body of Shiitake is solitary, tufted or clustered, and the fruiting body is medium to slightly large. The diameter of the cap is 5-12cm, sometimes up to 20cm. When it is young, it is hemispherical, and then flat to slightly flat. Its surface is rhombic, light brown, dark brown to dark cinnamon. There are usually dark scales in the middle, while there are often dirty white hairy or flocculent scales on the edge. Flesh white, slightly thick or thick, fine.
2. Mushroom
Mushroom is the largest edible mushroom in the world. Mushroom is composed of mycelium and fruiting body. Mycelium is the vegetative organ and fruiting body is the reproductive organ. Unlike plants, mushrooms can carry out photosynthesis, while mushrooms cannot. Mushrooms belong to fungi, and can be divided into large fungi and small fungi (including epiphytes). There are as many as 36000 species of mushrooms, which germinate from mature spores to mycelium.
The hypha is multicellular, with septum and elongated by the growth of the top. It is white, slender, woolly and gradually filamentous. Hyphae are conjugated to form a dense group, called mycelium. After the mycelium decayed, the culture material of thick brown turned to light brown. The fruiting body of a mushroom is like an open umbrella when it matures. It is composed of the cap, stipe, fold, ring and pseudomycorrhiza. Mushrooms are widely distributed all over the world, most abundant in forest deciduous areas.
